A Passion For Each Day

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; one thing I do, forgetting
those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are
ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
-Philippians 3:13-14

Paul was definitely a man with a mission. He lived his life working toward God-glorifying goals. I believe that we should all live our lives like Paul and dedicate every day to following the drive God has placed within each of us to glorify Him in everything that we do.

The following is a note that was written by a teenager to one of his friends. I only wish that I could live out the passion that is in it in my life each day.

This is the beginning of a new day.
God has given me this day to use as I will.
I can waste it or use it for good,
but what I do today is important because
I am exchanging a day of my life for it.
When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever,
leaving in its place something I have traded for it.
I want it to be gain and not loss, good and not evil,
success and not failure,
so that I shall not regret the price I have paid for it.

What passion has God placed in your heart? It is not always easy to figure that out, but we must! There has to be something God-oriented that drives us to make each day count! I know that I still struggle to make this a reality in my life. It is so easy to float through a day without a purpose. You wake up in the morning and before you know it, you are going to bed again and you have not accomplished anything for God. You wonder, "Where did this day go?". I am learning so much about purposeful living. God is impressing on me the personal responsibility of my Christianity. It is what I make it! I want to make it something bright, impacting and enticing to those I come in contact with in my life!

I have so much to learn!!!
