What Kind of Friend Are You?

How would you rate yourself as a friend? I have heard all of my life that Jesus is my friend and that has always been comforting to me, but I read something yesterday that really struck me and made me think. What kind of friend are you to Jesus? Friendship is a two way relationship. Each party in the friendship has a role. I think that so many times in my relationship with Jesus, I am simply taking, asking and expecting. I don't connect with Him, stand up for Him or give back to Him. Did you ever have a friend that only called you when they needed something? Sometimes you dread seeing that person's number show up on your ringing cell phone. I wonder if Jesus ever feels like that about me.

This is definitely something that I am going to roll around in my brain for a while. I want to work on my friendship with Christ. How do I show Him how much I value His friendship? I want my relationship with Him to be more than just a 9-1-1 call when I find myself in trouble.
