The Perfect Gift

I am really enjoying the Bible study that our women's group is doing on Thursday evenings. (We meet at 6:30pm for anyone who might be interested!) The study is called, "Wrapping Up Christmas". It takes the Christmas story and equates it to all of the things that we associate with the holidays like Christmas lists, shopping and gifts.

In our study this week, we were asked the question, "What is your response to the perfect gift of Jesus?". This made me think. I have accepted the gift of salvation, but what has been my response not only to let the Giver of the gift know how I feel, but to let others know what the Giver has done for me? My response is awe and gratitude. How do I make this known to God and to everyone around me?

If my husband gives me an awesome gift, you better believe I show it to everyone and tell everyone about it. I also make sure to let him know over and over how much it means to me and what a cool husband he is for getting it for me. How is God any different?

Salvation is the ultimate gift! I need to make sure I intentionally thank God for that gift and let Him know what a cool God He is for giving it to me! I also need to make sure I show and tell everyone I can about my gift!

I have so much to learn!

Nice post Kim.

I sometimes miss the forest for the trees in my life. The totality of the free gift that Jesus gives us is sometimes pushed onto my back-burner (which I wonder if it is even lit sometimes!) at which time I am probably wrapped up in something that isn't even worth doing! Thanks for the reminder about the Gift, and the importance of our acknowledgment of, and response to, that gift

Happy Thanksgiving!
